The forum, its trustees, and the fund that carries our students
Everything about Pak Global Maheshwari Forum in one place — our history, the Maheshwari Education Fund, who runs it, what we work on, and how to reach us.
Founded to coordinate welfare, records and dharam across cities
Pak Global Maheshwari Forum (PGMF) was founded in 1998 by trustees from the Mirpurkhas, Umerkot and Karachi samaj committees, who saw the need for a single body to coordinate welfare, marriage and household records, and religious observance for Maheshwari families across Pakistan.
What began as a records-keeping committee has grown into the forum's present form: a registered non-profit running the Maheshwari Education Fund, a devotional archive, an annual programme of festivals and competitions, and — since 2015 — chapters supporting the diaspora in the Gulf, North America, the UK and Australia.
History & background of the Fund
MEF made its first disbursements in 2004, to a handful of matric and intermediate students. Since then it has grown into the forum's central programme — funded entirely by community donations and disbursed directly to institutions, term by term.
